Try to capture the rocks by using various ‘hatching techniques’ with pen, pencil, charcoal or pastels. You can add colour if you wish.

Hatching is a shading technique used in both drawing and painting, where tone is built up through a series of thin strokes or lines that are more or less parallel. The lines can be short or long.Cross hatching is hatching done in two directions, one across the other.
